Police are investigating after an infant was found unresponsive in a Taunton home and later died, the local DA said.
The night of April 24, first responders arrived at a home on Somerset Avenue in Taunton for a report of an 8-month-old baby boy who was unresponsive, the office of Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn said in a press release.
The boy was transported to a local hospital, then flown to a Boston hospital, where he was pronounced dead the next morning, Quinn’s office said.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the baby’s cause and manner of death, the DA said.
The incident is being investigated by State Police and Taunton Police, Quinn’s office said.
