Boston police have shared a surveillance image of a “person of interest” in connection with a Sunday evening shooting in the city’s South End.
Officers responded to a report of a person shot around 7:45 p.m. near the intersection of Washington Street and East Berkeley Street, according to a statement from the Boston Police Department.
When officers arrived, they found a victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said.
Boston EMS transported the individual to a local hospital, where they were later listed in serious but stable condition, according to police.
Police said the surveillance footage of the area “captured a person of interest fleeing the scene.” According to police, the individual removed and discarded a jacket and hat on the street before entering a nearby construction site. There, the person allegedly put on a construction vest and exited the area.
Detectives assigned to District D-4, which covers Back Bay and South End, are actively investigating the incident.
