Cape Cod man charged with sister’s murder

A 67-year-old Sandwich man is facing a murder charge after his sister was found dead in a home in the town on Tuesday, prosecutors said.

According to the Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Office, Sandwich police received a call Tuesday to perform a well-being check on a woman who was at a home in the town. Kenneth Beltrame was outside the home when officers arrived, officials said.

“Mr. Beltrame disclosed to the police that his sister was inside the home and that she was deceased,” the DA’s office said in a release. “Police discovered the body of Mr. Beltrame’s 61-year-old sister, Jennifer Beltrame. The victim had obvious signs of violent trauma to her body.”

Sandwich police detectives and State Police detectives assigned to the DA’s office conducted interviews, including with Kenneth Beltrame, and executed a search warrant at the residence in the course of their investigation, which is ongoing, the DA’s office said.
