Officers found "multiple stabbing victims" upon arriving on scene, with one who succumbed to injuries later during surgery.

An 18-year-old man is facing a murder charge after a stabbing in Chelsea Thursday night left one person dead, authorities said.

Chelsea police responded to a report of a stabbing at 6:45 p.m. near the area of Chestnut Street and Everett Avenue, according to a statement from the Chelsea Police Department.

Upon arrival, officers found “multiple stabbing victims,” who were all provided medical aid, police said. Officers did not release a specific number of victims.

The suspect was identified as Sergio Josue Castellanos, 18, according to the Suffolk District Attorney’s Office.

Castellanos was expected to be arraigned Friday in Chelsea District Court on a murder charge after one of the victims died following surgery, the district attorney’s office said.
