Man threatens another bus passenger with a gun in East Boston, police say

The 26-year-old was carrying a .40-caliber Beretta and had a prior conviction for illegal possession of a firearm, authorities say.

A man was arrested Monday after allegedly threatening another passenger with a gun on an MBTA bus in East Boston.

While riding a bus on Meridian Street, the 26-year-old man was allegedly carrying a .40-caliber Beretta. At around 6 p.m., he removed the gun from his waistband and threatened another passenger on the bus, MBTA Transit Police shared in an X post. 

The man had a prior conviction for illegal possession of a firearm, police said.
