A man was arrested Monday after allegedly threatening another passenger with a gun on an MBTA bus in East Boston.
While riding a bus on Meridian Street, the 26-year-old man was allegedly carrying a .40-caliber Beretta. At around 6 p.m., he removed the gun from his waistband and threatened another passenger on the bus, MBTA Transit Police shared in an X post.
2/23 6PM a 26y/o male w/a prior conviction for illegal poss. of a firearm was again armed w/a 40cal Beretta/removed it from his waistband & threatened another passenger onboard an #MBTA bus on Meriden St. SP was arrested & transported to TPDHQ for the arrest/booking process. pic.twitter.com/7qTZbY9GRH

The man had a prior conviction for illegal possession of a firearm, police said.
