The traffic stop occurred when Detective Anthony Vega noticed the vehicle had a defective headlight, according to the press release. Inside the car were three passengers: an adult female in the front passenger seat and two small children in rear-facing car seats in the back.
Officers reported detecting a strong odor of alcohol from Lisboa, who also displayed glassy eyes and slurred speech, according to the department. A subsequent investigation confirmed he was operating under the influence, police said.
During an inventory search of the vehicle, police found three empty nip bottles — one Smirnoff and two Fireballs — along with two opened Fireball bottles and three sealed Heineken bottles, the press release states.
Lisboa is facing multiple charges, including:
While being questioned on a private driveway, Lisboa initially provided a false name and Social Security number, which Detective Vega verified belonged to another person, police said. Lisboa later gave his real name and birthdate, revealing an outstanding warrant from Polk County, Florida.
Lisboa was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Southborough Police Department for booking. On Sunday, he was moved to the Worcester House of Correction, according to police.
Lisboa was arraigned Tuesday, pleading not guilty to all charges, case documents show. The court set bail, with conditions for release, and scheduled a return date for March 17.
