Roomies were dealing meth out of their Brighton apartment, police say

Both roommates have prior criminal records dating back to the '90s, according to the district attorney.

Two Brighton roommates were charged on Thursday with dealing meth out of their apartment, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.

Vincenzo Porfino, 43, pleaded not guilty to trafficking methamphetamine of less than 100 grams. William Nagle, 46, pleaded not guilty to trafficking methamphetamine of more than 200 grams and class B possession with intent to distribute, according to court documents.

Both roommates have prior criminal records. Since 1995, Porfino has been convicted for numerous firearms, domestic violence, drugs, and larceny offenses. Nagle has convictions for several violent and drug-related offenses dating back to 1997, the DA says.

Boston police launched a surveillance operation following numerous community complaints regarding drug use and distribution from 227 Faneuil St., the DA says.

On Thursday, law enforcement executed a search warrant at their apartment and reported finding various narcotics, including suboxone, Adderall, and around 300 grams of crystal methamphetamine. Police also found drug paraphernalia, $3,591 in cash, and 98 counterfeit $100 bills, the DA says.

“This is another great example of community members contacting police about what they see happening in their neighborhood and then police following up with a thorough investigation resulting in arrests and seizures of drugs, cash and counterfeit money,” Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden wrote in a statement.

Nagle and Porfino are being held without bail ahead of a dangerousness hearing on Tuesday.
