Cambridge police are investigating after a driver was shot at in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Officers responded to the area of Cambridge Street and Evereteze Way at about 4 a.m. after they were alerted by a ShotSpotter activation, police said on Facebook. They learned that an unknown armed suspect had confronted a driver who was parking their car.

As the victim tried to drive away from the confrontation, the suspect fired several shots, one of which struck the victim’s car and shattered the rear window, according to police. Officers found ballistic evidence at the scene and have launched an ongoing investigation.
