Police in Bow, New Hampshire, are searching for a vandal or vandals who shot at Christmas inflatables early Tuesday. Bow Police Department

New Hampshire police are asking for the public’s help identifying an armed Grinch who shot at several Christmas inflatables in a Bow neighborhood early Tuesday morning.

New Hampshire news:

The Bow Police Department said it is searching for the vandal or vandals responsible for the “reckless discharge of a firearm and destruction of property” that put several festive inflatables in the line of fire around 1 a.m. on Risingwood Drive.

Police said their preliminary investigation indicates that whoever discharged the firearm did so from the roadway, possibly while sitting in a vehicle.

“This act of vandalism is not only destructive to private property but, more importantly, poses a serious and reckless danger to the residents of this neighborhood,” the department said in a press release. The person or people responsible could face charges, including criminal mischief and reckless conduct involving a firearm, police noted.

“We are fortunate that no one was injured last night,” Police Chief Kenneth Miller said in a statement. “Discharging a firearm in a residential area, potentially from a vehicle, demonstrates a shocking disregard for the safety of our community.”

The department is urging anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious near Risingwood Drive to contact authorities. Police are also seeking home surveillance footage captured between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. on Risingwood Drive and adjacent streets.

Tipsters can contact Lt. Matt Pratte at 603-223-3950 or submit information online through the Concord Regional Crimeline
