Seven juveniles, all 13 to 15 years old, were arrested following a police chase involving stolen cars in Norwood on Saturday.

Around 1:50 a.m., two vehicles outran an officer trying to stop the vehicles on Route 1 north after they both made an illegal U-turn out of a Mobil gas station near Dean Street, according to Norwood police.

The officer was able to catch up with the vehicles and the run the license plate numbers. Both the Infiniti SUV and the red Lincoln were reported as stolen, police say.

The Lincoln was recently stolen from Pleasant Street and both were involved in a shoplifting incident at the Mobil gas station, police say.

Then, the Lincoln was spotted heading southbound on Route 1 heading back towards Norwood, police say.

As the vehicle approached the Foxboro-Walpole line, police deployed spike strikes that deflated the vehicle’s tires before the car crashed into a guardrail, police say.

All the occupants were detained and transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital for evaluation, police say.
