Police in West Boylston are warning the public about an increase in car break-ins at the town’s gyms.
Items left on car seats such as bags, pocketbooks, and fanny packs have been the main targets of the break-ins, police said on Facebook. The police department shared photos of a car with a smashed window that had been broken into.
The thefts have mostly happened in the early morning hours, according to police. Some of these break-ins have occurred as early as 5 a.m.
“Please DO NOT leave anything of value, in view of your vehicle,” police said on Facebook. “If possible leave items of value at home, or at least secured in the trunk, so as not to draw attention to your vehicle.”
The West Boylston Police Department is continuing to investigate the break-ins. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Michael Rogers at 774-450-3510.
West Boylston police did not immediately respond to a request for further information Tuesday evening.
