An altercation at a local liquor store in Fall River on Saturday may have led to the fatal shooting of a 31-year-old man, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
In a release, the district attorney’s office said that at around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Fall River police received a 911 call to the area of Leonard’s Package Store located at 1331 Pleasant St. for “men fighting.”
Upon arrival, police found Taiquan Teixeira of Fall River unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound.
First responders transported Teixeira to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead a few hours later.
The Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, along with the Fall River Police Department, is investigating the incident.
Authorities said there is no further information available at this time.
