Police searching for couple who allegedly robbed suburban CVS while brandishing handgun

Whitman police are searching for two suspects who allegedly robbed a South Shore CVS while in possession of a handgun on Sunday.

Around 7:05 p.m., Whitman Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at the CVS at 351 Bedford St.

A store employee told police that the alleged robbers were a man and a woman.

After entering the store, the woman began putting items in a bag, the employee told police. When a store employee confronted them, the man brandished what appeared to be a black, semi-automatic handgun from his sweatshirt pocket, police say.

The employee then ran into an office and called the police.

The suspects fled towards the McDonald’s next door at 323 Bedford St., but were not apprehended despite a search by police.

No injuries were reported, police say. The value of the stolen merchandise is unknown at this time.
