A 24-year-old woman is facing multiple charges after she allegedly hit a pedestrian in New Hampshire while driving drunk and then fled the scene.
Heaven Martin, of Newbury, is charged with aggravated DUI and felony conduct after an accident following the Tuesday evening incident on Route 103 in Sutton, which is northwest of Concord.
State troopers responded to the scene at about 6:45 p.m. and found the injured female pedestrian, who had been walking along the roadway. The woman was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, according to a release.
“The preliminary investigation indicated the suspect vehicle was an older-model Toyota sedan,” State Police said. “This information was shared with surrounding agencies.
“With the timely assistance of the Bradford and Newbury police departments, a matching car was located at a home in Newbury. The vehicle, a 1994 Toyota Camry, had damage consistent with evidence at the crash scene.”
Martin was at the home and was determined to have been the driver, according to police.
The crash remains under investigation.
