Cyclist killed, driver facing charges in Framingham hit and run, prosecutors say

The fatal hit and run happened Wednesday morning when a man in a vehicle allegedly struck and killed a bicyclist.

A Framingham man was arrested and charged Wednesday after he allegedly hit and killed a bicyclist with his vehicle, according to prosecutors.

Paulo Castro, 69, of Framingham, is charged with leaving the scene of personal injury causing death, the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office said in a press release. He is expected to be arraigned Thursday in Framingham District Court.

At about 9:50 a.m., Framingham police responded to a report of a bicyclist struck by a vehicle in the area of Gorman Road and Concord Street, according to the DA’s office. The bicyclist, a 43-year-old Framingham man, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries.
