Student arrested after allegedly bringing airsoft pistol into South Shore high school

Braintree High went under a shelter-in-place so an officer and school staff could approach the student.

A Braintree High School student was charged with with carrying a dangerous weapon on school grounds and resisting arrest, among other charges, after allegedly bringing an airsoft gun to school on Monday.

Another student reported to the School Resource Officer early on Monday that they had seen a student with a handgun, according to Braintree Police.

The school went under a shelter-in-place so the officer and school staff could approach the student allegedly in possession of the gun, police say.

The student, whose name has not been released, had a realistic-looking airsoft pistol in their coat and was arrested, police say.
