Ten defendants in a statewide sex trafficking case have been indicted by a grand jury, according to Attorney General Andrea Campbell’s Office.
The jury returned 45 indictments against the defendants related to multiple women being trafficked throughout Essex, Middlesex, Plymouth, and Suffolk counties between March 2023 and September 2025, the AG’s office said in a statement Friday.
Gianni Martinez, 23, of Lynn, allegedly trafficked the women for sexual servitude and attempted to recruit additional women for commercial sex, according to the AG’s office. To traffic his victims, Martinez allegedly set up various online dating profiles for them, conversed with potential buyers, and arranged transportation for the victims to meet the buyers and engage in commercial sex acts.
The victims were allegedly forced to give Martinez or his grandmother, Rosa Garcia, 68, of Lynn, any payments they received. Martinez was also “physically violent and coercive” with his victims, the AG’s office said.
Martinez allegedly continued to traffic the women and attempted to recruit additional women from jail after he was incarcerated in the Middleton House of Correction in March 2024, according to officials. One of Martinez’s alleged victims obtained a restraining order against him in April 2025, which he violated on multiple occasions, authorities said.
Martinez has been charged with eight counts of trafficking persons for sexual servitude, five counts of deriving support from prostitution, five counts of violating a restraining order, three counts of conspiracy to traffic, three counts of threats to commit a crime, two counts of rape, one count of assault & battery on a family member, one count of attempting to violate a restraining order, and one count of stalking in violation of a restraining order, according to the AG’s office.
Garcia has been charged with two counts of deriving support from prostitution and money laundering, the AG’s office said.
Wally Nunez, 22; Abner Vaquerano, 23; and Angel Soto-Martinez, 21, all from Lynn, were indicted on three counts of trafficking persons for sexual servitude, deriving support from prostitution, and conspiracy to traffic, according to the AG’s office. Martinez allegedly hired them to transport his victims to sex buyers at various locations, according to officials.
Five of those alleged buyers have also been indicted, including Andrew Parvey, 53, of Fitchburg; John Vincent, 47, of Bridgewater; Leonard King, 60, of Whitman; Mark Barry, 72, of Salem; and Peter Kellner, 56, of Newton, the AG’s office said. All five defendants have been charged with paying for sexual conduct, according to officials.
The alleged buyers were found out when prosecutors seized multiple cell phones during the investigation, according to the AG’s office. Investigators were able to review text messages, which showed that the victims had participated in commercial sex dates with the alleged buyers, authorities said.
The investigation was a joint effort between Massachusetts State Police, the FBI, and the Lynn Police Department.
