A Massachusetts man is facing kidnapping and rape charges after allegedly traveling to New York to meet a 14-year-old girl.
New York State Police arrested Estefan D. Henriquez, 29, of Lynn, following an investigation into the exploitation of minors online.
Henriques allegedly had sexually explicit conversations with the victim and made arrangements to travel to New York to meet her.
Further investigation found that Henriquez had met the victim in person previously and sent her several sexually explicit messages via social media in early October, police say.
Around 2:58 a.m. on Oct. 8, police arrested Henriquez when he arrived at a prearranged location in Canisteo, a town in western New York located approximately 420 miles from Boston.
He was arrested without incident and charged with two counts of second-degree rape and attempted rape in the second-degree. Henriquez was also charged with one count of sexually motivated second-degree kidnapping, endangering the welfare of a child, sexually motivated attempted kidnapping in the second-degree, and attempted endangerment of the welfare of a child, police say.
Henriquez was transported to Steuben County Jail, police say. The bond was set at $15,000, according to Livingston County News.
