The East Bridgewater Police Department is filing 21 additional charges against a Brockton man accused of photographing women and children in the shower at the local YMCA.
Abidan Rivera, 43, pleaded guilty in May to taking photos of a woman in a YMCA shower and is incarcerated at the Plymouth County Correctional Facility.
On Tuesday, Chief Michael Jenkins of the East Bridgewater Police Department announced that an ongoing investigation, including a forensic examination of Rivera’s cellphone, had discovered 17 more illicit images.
Police say Rivera secretly photographed nude women and children in the family locker room of the East Bridgewater YMCA.
The department is charging Rivera with 17 counts of photographing, videotaping or electronically surveilling someone nude, two counts of posing or exhibiting a child in a state of nudity, and two counts of possession of child pornography.
Police previously reported that Rivera is a level 2 sex offender.
