A driver fled the scene after they struck and killed one woman and critically injured another Sunday night in Jamaica Plain, officials said.
According to the Boston Police Department, police responded at 9:37 p.m. to a report of two pedestrians struck by a motor vehicle near 101 South Huntington Ave.
Officers found two women. The first was a 77-year-old woman who was transported by EMS to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. The second was a 39-year-old woman who was taken to a local hospital and remains in critical condition.
Police later found the car involved unoccupied in the Huntington Avenue area and secured it.
The crash remains under investigation. Police say they have made no arrests.
