A teacher at Shepherd Hill Regional High School in Dudley is facing child endangerment charges after he was arrested Friday, according to Taunton police.
Thomas Wilson, 37, of Southbridge, was charged with reckless sexual endangerment of a child, enticement of a child under the age of 16, and possession of child pornography, Taunton police said in a statement. The charges came following an investigation of an alleged Sept. 18 incident.
Prosecutors allege that Wilson forced a 14-year-old girl he met online into his car and drove her around, according to NBC10 Boston. Investigators later allegedly found a box of condoms, a vibrator, and personal lubricant in Wilson’s car.
Wilson allegedly told investigators that he found Reddit posts from the girl about looking to date older men and that he was trying to educate her, NBC10 Boston reported. Investigators allegedly found Snapchat videos and communications on Wilson’s phone, which led to the charges.
Dudley police were notified Sept. 20 by Taunton police and contacted the Dudley-Charlton Regional School District administration, who placed Wilson on administrative leave, according to a Facebook post. Both police departments are continuing to investigate the case.
Wilson was arraigned Friday in Taunton District Court and pleaded not guilty, according to court records. He was held on $10,000 cash bail and is due back in court Monday.
Wilson’s attorney, Samantha Cremin, did not immediately respond to a request for comment Sunday morning.
