A father allegedly left his baby unattended in a rental car in South Boston after he became lost on Tuesday night, according to officials.
According to the Boston Police Department, at approximately 8:39 p.m., officers responded to a call about a missing child in the 400 Summer St. area.
When they arrived, they learned that an 11-month-old baby had been left unattended inside a rental car for about an hour after the child’s father became lost.
Officers found the baby, located safe and in good health, in a nearby parking lot.
Boston EMS evaluated the baby.
Police say the South Boston District Court is summoning the father for a charge of reckless endangerment of a child.
They say the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation.
