A 13-year-old student was arrested for allegedly making a threat to a Clinton school in a social media post.

The female student, whose name was not released due to her juvenile status, was arrested on Monday, according to Clinton Public Schools.

“Within minutes of receiving notification, via the communication channels that the FBI has developed, the individual who made the post was identified, located, and taken into police custody by the Clinton Police Department,” Clinton Public Schools Superintendent Steven Meyer wrote in a statement.

There is no current threat to the school district, although the investigation into the situation remains ongoing, the district said.
