A man was found fatally stabbed in Fitchburg Tuesday morning, and a man was later arrested in connection with his killing, prosecutors announced.
At around 5:30 a.m. on Sept. 16, Fitchburg police arrived at Chester Street in response to a reported incident with a knife, the office of Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr. said in a press release.
Officers found a man who had been stabbed; he was later pronounced dead at a local hospital, Early’s office said.
Police arrested Brockton resident Charles Ednerson, 27, in connection with the fatal stabbing, according to prosecutors.
Ednerson is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous
weapon and armed assault with intent to murder. He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.
Attorney information for Ednerson was not publicly listed as of Tuesday night.
Officials have not publicly identified the victim pending notification of his family, Early’s office said.
