A man died from a gunshot wound Thursday night in Dorchester, officials said.
Boston police responded to a radio call at 10:01 p.m. for a person shot in the area of 163 Ruthven St., according to a statement from the department.
Officers found a man outside of the location with a gunshot wound. An initial investigation showed that the incident may have happened in a car that then crashed, police said.
The man was transported by EMS to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The department’s homicide detectives are actively investigating the incident. Police urge anyone with information to contact the Homicide Unit at 617-343-4470. Tips can also be sent anonymously through the CrimeStoppers program.
