Boston police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in an indecent assault and battery incident May 14 in the North End.
Just before 11 p.m., a woman was entering her home near Margaret Street when she was approached from behind by an unknown Black male, who allegedly committed indecent assault and battery before fleeing on foot, police said in a statement. In photos released by police, the man can be seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
Police are reminding the public to “remain aware of their surroundings” when walking alone at night by avoiding “distractions such as phones or headphones” and reporting any suspicious activity to 911.
Sexual Assault Unit detectives at the Boston Police Department are actively investigating the incident and ask anyone with information to contact them at (617) 343-4400. Community members can also submit anonymous tips through the CrimeStoppers tip line by calling 1-800-494-TIPS or texting “TIP” to CRIME (27463).
