Police identify victim of Dorchester homicide

The Dorchester man was found suffering from a gunshot wound and taken to Boston Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Boston police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred May 3 in Dorchester.

At about 11 p.m., officers responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Georgia Street in Dorchester, police said in a statement. Police found an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound at the scene.

The man has been identified as Shakar Caterson, 35, of Dorchester, according to police. Boston Emergency Medical Services responded and took him to Boston Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
