A 50-year-old man was fatally shot inside his Lowell home Saturday morning, and officials called the shooting “an isolated incident.”
Tige Dyer was found with an apparent gunshot wound at his Cumberland Road home, the Middlesex District Attorney’s office said in a statement. He was transported to a local hospital where he died.
Police responded to the home around 11:10 a.m. following a 911 call reporting that a man was shot, the DA said.
The DA’s preliminary investigation “suggests that this is an isolated incident,” the statement read. The statement did not indicate if another individual was involved with the shooting.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the District Attorney’s office and Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the office, officials said.
