A woman was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries Sunday after New Hampshire State Police shot her following a vehicle pursuit, officials said.
Moriah Infinjer, 28, was charged with various offenses by the New Hampshire State Police relating to the pursuit of her car, but remains in the hospital for her injuries, according to a statement from state police.
State police troopers attempted to make a traffic stop of Infinjer’s car near the border of Rochester and Dover around 1:30 a.m. on April 13, according to the statement. Infinjer did not stop her car and sped away, police said.
Police pursued the car, which reached speeds of approximately 100 miles per hour, according to the statement. Police set a spike strip on the road which stopped the vehicle.
The encounter between police and Infinjer after the car was stopped resulted in an officer firing his gun, hitting Infinjer, according to the statement.
The New Hampshire Department of Justice is conducting an ongoing investigation into the shooting and the officer will undergo a formal interview next week. The identity of the officer will not be provided before that time, state police said.
