A 28-year-old man is facing assault charges for allegedly stabbing a man outside a courthouse in Medford Monday, authorities announced Tuesday.

Kalongie Bradley was arraigned in Malden District Court Monday morning after he was arrested at Encore Casino earlier that day. The disorderly conduct misdemeanor was dismissed, according to court records.

Police responded to the courthouse, which houses both Cambridge and Malden district courts, around noon Monday for reports of a fight involving five men.

The men were detained by local police and troopers, Massachusetts State Police said, and police found a knife secured in one of the men’s waistbands.

State Police said the fight outside the courthouse stemmed from the incident at Encore Casino. At the casino, Bradley allegedly had fought “an apparent relative” of the man who was stabbed outside the courthouse.

The man who suffered a non-life threatening stab wound received “medical transport,” State Police said. Previously, officials said the wound was serious.

Three additional people were detained at a nearby restaurant, State Police said. Police arrested Bradley after speaking to the five men and witnesses.

Bradley was expected to be arraigned in court Tuesday on the new charges, State Police said. Those court records were not available Tuesday, and it was not immediately clear whether Bradley had an attorney who could speak to the charges.
