A Lynn teenager was arraigned Wednesday following his arrest on charges of bringing a loaded weapon to a local high school, officials said.
Malachi Wright-Godfrey, 18, was arrested on Dec. 20 by Lynn police after allegedly being found with a loaded firearm in Lynn Classical High School, according to a statement from the Essex County District Attorney’s office.
Wright-Godrey pleaded not guilty in Superior Court in Salem to charges of felony counts of carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, and possession of a large-capacity feeding device, along with misdemeanor counts of possession of ammunition without a firearms ID card, assault and battery on a public employee, and carrying a dangerous weapon on school grounds, according to the statement.
The judge ordered Wright-Godrey to be held without bail to wait on a final hearing on dangerousness, according to the statement. The teen is scheduled to return to court on March 4.
