Two suspects accosted a a FedEx driver and stole a package from him during a delivery in Harvard, Massachusetts, on Thursday, according to Harvard Police.
Police responded to an armed robbery report at approximately 12:43 p.m. on Jan. 9 during a package delivery on Stow Road, with officers arriving within minutes, police said in a statement.
According to the statement, the driver described a white, late-model Acura TLX with tinted windows and a Connecticut license plate pulled up to the side of his delivery truck. Two masked men exited the vehicle and forcibly took the driver’s package.
No firearm was visibly displayed, but the suspects made verbal threats that suggested they were armed, according to police. The driver was not harmed.
A video, shown below, from home video surveillance footage was obtained by officers and captures the event.
Following their initial investigation, police suggested that the suspects planned the theft in advance and were targeting this specific delivery, noting a neighbor reported seeing the described suspect vehicle parked in the area several hours before the robbery.
“We want to emphasize the importance of community vigilance in light of this incident,” Harvard Police Chief James Babu wrote in the statement. “We urge all residents to stay alert and report any unusual or suspicious activity immediately.”
