Boston police are asking for the public’s help identifying a woman who allegedly stole a purse from a Brighton toy drive on Sunday.
The alleged theft happened at the Corrib Pub on Market Street around 6:15 p.m., during the Allston-Brighton Toy Drive, Boston police said in a statement.
The suspect, who police described as an Asian woman, was seen rifling through patrons’ personal belongings before allegedly stealing the purse. According to a Boston Globe report, the victim’s purse contained a Coach wallet and various identification cards.
Investigators released photos of the woman, who is seen wearing a blue jacket and holding a “Merry Christmas” gift bag. In the images, she also appears to be wearing a black-and-white face mask pulled below her chin.
