Police: Woman rifled through belongings, stole purse from Brighton toy drive

The theft allegedly happened at the Allston-Brighton Toy Drive at Corrib Pub.

The suspect, who police described as an Asian woman, was seen rifling through patrons’ personal belongings before allegedly stealing the purse.

Boston police are asking for the public’s help identifying a woman who allegedly stole a purse from a Brighton toy drive on Sunday.

The alleged theft happened at the Corrib Pub on Market Street around 6:15 p.m., during the Allston-Brighton Toy Drive, Boston police said in a statement. 

The suspect, who police described as an Asian woman, was seen rifling through patrons’ personal belongings before allegedly stealing the purse. According to a Boston Globe report, the victim’s purse contained a Coach wallet and various identification cards.

Investigators released photos of the woman, who is seen wearing a blue jacket and holding a “Merry Christmas” gift bag. In the images, she also appears to be wearing a black-and-white face mask pulled below her chin.
