A New Hampshire woman was arrested Monday in Manchester for allegedly driving drunk with her twin infants poorly secured in the car, according to officials.
Shannon Lurvey, 37, of Allenstown, N.H., faces charges of driving under the influence, endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest, according to The Boston Globe.
Police were called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Boynton Street in Manchester around 4 p.m., according to reports.
Investigators found two cars — a Hyundai Elantra with “significant passenger side front end damage” and a Honda Pilot with minor damage.
Lurvey had been driving the Elantra, according to officials. Police said her 11-month-old twins were poorly secured inside the vehicle.
According to the paper, police thought Lurvey was intoxicated based on their observations.
“Lurvey appeared agitated and was uncooperative with responding officers,” police told the Globe. “While officers attempted to make the arrest, Lurvey struggled with them.”
The twins were taken to an area hospital before they were released to a relative, according to the paper.
The Honda Pilot driver was unharmed.
