Two killed in Worcester shooting

A shooting in Worcester on Thursday left a woman dead and a man seriously injured, officials say.
At 6:21 p.m., police were dispatched to a Brookside Avenue address for a report of possible gunshots, according to a statement from the Worcester Police Department.
At the scene, officers found the two victims inside an apartment, both suffering “serious injuries,” the statement said. The officers gave them medical aid.
Paramedics then arrived and pronounced the woman dead, authorities said. The man was taken to a hospital.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Worcester Police Detective Bureau at 508-799-8651.
