A Massachusetts woman and her baby were killed in an alleged drive-by shooting in Hartford, Connecticut on Tuesday.
Investigators determined the shooting occurred in the area of 380 New Britain Ave., according to a statement from the Hartford Police Department.
The victims, both from Springfield, were allegedly shot inside a vehicle after the suspect pulled up next to it and opened fire.
At 2:47 p.m., officers responded to Hartford Hospital for a report of a vehicle arriving with multiple gunshot victims, the statement said.
Three victims suffered gunshot wounds, police said. Jessiah Mercado, 20, and her 4-month-old son, Messiah Diaz, were pronounced dead at the hospital.
The third victim, a man in his 20s, suffered a gunshot wound that was not considered life-threatening, the statement said.
Authorities said the driver of the vehicle was not injured.
The incident remains under investigation.
