A Ware man was found guilty in connection with the 2018 murder of a West Brookfield mother and her three children, according to a statement from Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early junior.
Matthew Locke, 38, has been convicted of four counts of first-degree murder.
The bodies of Sara Bermudez, 38, Madison Bermudez, 8, James Bermudez, 6, and Michael Bermudez, 2, were found in their home in West Brookfield around 3:30 p.m. on March 1, 2018, according to officials.
More than 1,000 exhibits, 70 witnesses and four full weeks of testimony were involved in this case. The jury deliberated for 10 hours.
“The deaths of this mother and her children were some of the most heinous ever seen by this office,” Early said. “We hope this outcome can provide some measure of justice for the victim’s family.”
