Two people robbed a mail carrier in Billerica on Tuesday, authorities said.
Billerica police said in a statement that two people, both wearing masks, approached a mail carrier in the area of Pages Court around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The suspects were armed with a handgun, according to the statement.
Police reported no injuries, and said the suspects fled in a car. Nearby Parker Elementary School was put in a “soft lockdown” while authorities investigated the incident, police said. Pages Court runs directly next to the school grounds. However, police said there was “no danger” to the school.
Police have not released the names of any suspects or said what or how much the suspects stole. A further investigation into the robbery is underway, police said.
