A man armed with a machete and a gun robbed two East Boston stores on Nov. 2, police said in a statement on Tuesday.
Boston police said the first robbery happened at 9:48 p.m. at East Boston Corner Market, located at 83 Bennington St. The second happened minutes later at the East Coast Variety store, 223 London St., police said.
Boston police are asking for the public’s help in finding the suspect.
“Be Advised: The suspect involved in these recent robberies was armed with both a machete and a firearm,” police said. “If you see this individual, do not approach. Instead, call 911 immediately.”
In pictures shared by the department, the suspect is wearing a puffer jacket inside out with a Honda logo on it, blue gloves, and a silver watch. Police said he can speak both English and Spanish.
While an investigation into the robberies are underway, police are asking for anyone with information to contact District A-7 Detectives at (617) 343-4234. If people wish to remain anonymous, they can contact BPD by calling the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1 (800) 494-TIPS or by texting the word ‘TIP’ to CRIME (27463).
“The Boston Police Department will stringently guard and protect the identities of all those who wish to help this investigation in an anonymous manner,” the statement said.
