A shooting victim at the Hampton Inn hotel in North Attleborough on Monday night was not the intended target, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
At around 10:05 p.m., North Attleborough police responded to the hotel at 55 Draper Ave. after receiving a 911 call reporting a person was shot.
First responders found a 61-year-old man who sustained a gunshot wound to the face in the lobby of the hotel. The man suffered from a nonlife-threatening injury and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The DA’s office said an initial investigation showed the victim was not the intended target.
North Attleborough police and Massachusetts State Police are actively investigating the incident.
