A man was fatally shot in the early morning hours on Tuesday in Roxbury, according to the Boston Police Department.
Police responded to 17 Hammond St. at 1:32 a.m. for a report of a person shot. Officers arrived and found a man with a gunshot wound. First responders transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Following the incident, homicide detectives arrested Widmaer Lapaix, 27, of North Attleborough, for murder. He was expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
Boston police say it is an active investigation.
