Police identify victim in fatal Mattapan shooting
Mitchell Felix Duru died of gunshot wounds early Sunday morning, police said.
The Boston Police Department has identified the victim in Sunday’s fatal shooting in Mattapan , the department said in a statement.
BPD said Mitchell Felix Duru, of Jamaica Plain, died of gunshot wounds near 849 Cummins Highway early Sunday morning. He was 23, the statement said.
Police responded to the area around 1:05 a.m. on Sunday and located a victim suffering from gunshot wounds, an earlier statement said. BPD said Duru died on the scene.
BPD said an investigation into the shooting is still underway, and anyone with information about the incident should contact the BPD Homicide Unit at 617-343-4470.
