There’s a new set of scam emails to watch out for, according to officials.

The scammers tell victims that their computer and the computer’s camera have been hacked, according to a statement from the Wakefield police.

Scammers say they have “compromising photos” of the victims as well as information they’ve gathered from the falsified computer hacking, according to police.

A photo of the victims’ houses or streets gathered from “open source media” will also be attached, according to the statement.

Police said these scammers will demand that the victims provide them with monetary compensation via Bitcoin or Bitcoin Wallet information.
