A man suspected of killing a 17 year old in Stow earlier this year is now charged with first degree murder.
Authorities say Shane Curry, 20, killed Nevaeh Goddard, his girlfriend, in April.
Curry was originally arraigned in April on charges of assault with a weapon. Prosectors have now upgraded those charges to murder, the Middlesex District Attorney said in a statement on Friday.
Police responded to a wellness check on April 5 on Great Road in Stow, prosecutors said. When police arrived, the DA said, Curry prevented officers from entering the home for more than two hours.
Officers finally entered the residence, where they found Goddard’s body with “obvious signs of injury,” the DA said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
“It is alleged that Curry stabbed Nevaeh causing her death during a physical altercation,” the DA said.
Prosecutors say Goddard lived at the home, and she and Curry were in a relationship. Representation for Curry did not immediately respond to request for comment.
