A man with a gun demanded money from the cash register at Family Food Mart on Revere Beach Parkway, according to officials.
The clerk, who was interviewed by WHDH, initially thought the man was a customer, asking him where the water was.
The man then proceeded to walk behind the counter, and the clerk saw the gun the man had in his hand, according to the news outlet.
Authorities are still searching for the armed robber and released a video of the incident.
