Second juvenile arrested in Dartmouth stabbing that may have been arranged on social media

Authorities said both juveniles involved were taken to a local hospital and have since been arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Dartmouth police now believe a stabbing incident outside of the Dartmouth Mall this weekend was pre-arranged on social media.

Officers responded to the scene in the parking lot outside of Five Below at 200 N. Dartmouth Mall on Sunday around 2:50 p.m.

There, they located a 16-year-old boy from New Bedford with stab wounds that did not appear to be life-threatening, police said.

They then found the other person involved, a 16-year-old boy from Fall River, at Lowe’s at 5 Faunce Corner Mall Road, after he left the scene via a bicycle, police said.

Authorities said both juveniles were taken to a local hospital and have since been arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
