Boston police arrested three teenage girls Monday evening on assault and battery charges.
According to a department release, officers responded to the area of 116 Huntington Ave., across the street from the Prudential Center, where the victim reported an assault. The girls reportedly punched and kicked the victim. Then, they allegedly sprayed her with OC pepper spray and stole her phone.
Officers searched for the group and discovered them around 171 Saint Botolph St. One of the girls allegedly discarded the pepper spray under a motor vehicle.
All three were arrested and face various charges.
The 13-year-old and 16-year-old suspects face juvenile charges of armed robbery and assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon (shod foot, often referring to kicking with shoes on).
The 14-year-old suspect faces juvenile charges of receiving stolen property and assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon (shod foot).
The victim was transported to a hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.
