Shortly after 10 p.m., Friday, officers arrived at the home and spoke with a woman who said she was about to go to bed when she saw a man she did not know inside her house. The woman told police she ran downstairs out of fear and believed the man ran upstairs and exited her home from her rooftop deck.
The woman described the man and the backpack he was carrying to officers before they began a search for him.
Police searched the surrounding buildings and streets when they discovered an open window on the first floor of a nearby construction site, according to the release. Police say they found a backpack matching the description.
While continuing to search on Marlborough Street, officers located Correa, who matched the suspect’s description. He was lying in some bushes with a screwdriver near him, police reported.
Officers detained Correa, and the woman was able to identify him as the suspect.
Officers allegedly recovered various pieces of jewelry, money, and personal items belonging to the woman and returned them all.
Police also allegedly found what they believe to be nine oxycodone pills on Correa.
