A woman was arrested Monday afternoon after allegedly hitting her long-term boyfriend with a car in Auburn. Witnesses told police it appeared she did so intentionally.
Auburn officers responded to 911 calls around 12:30 p.m. that day for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle near 9 Homestead Ave.
“Officers arrived in the area and found a chaotic scene with a male party on the ground next to a motor vehicle, bleeding from the head and in severe pain,” police said in a statement.
The female driver, who remained in the area, had kicked a bystander who attempted to help the man, witnesses said. They said that the crash seemed intentional “as the pair was observed arguing near a church a short time and distance from the accident scene.”
The woman was taken into custody. She told police she was in a long-term relationship with the victim and admitted to using drugs and alcohol earlier in the day.
She was expected to be arraigned in Worcester District Court on Tuesday.
