Driver charged for allegedly running down pedestrian after argument in Milford

The 28-year-old Milford man faces multiple charges, including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and driving without a license.

An altercation over a car parked in the middle of the road led a Milford man to run down another man, according to police.

Milford police spoke with the reported victim at Milford Regional Hospital shortly after 4 a.m. on Saturday, a release noted.

The victim, who said he walked into the hospital after he was struck by the car, told police that he had an argument around 2:30 a.m. over the suspect allegedly parking a car in the middle of the road.

As he was walking away, the victim said he heard the sound of an engine accelerating just before he was hit, the release noted.

At the scene, Milford police found some of the victim’s belongings, as well as a pool of blood, they said.

With this information and evidence at the scene, police soon located the suspected vehicle and its driver, Alejandro Gonzalez. They arrested the 28-year-old Milford man shortly before 6 a.m. and charged him with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, unlicensed operation of motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, leaving scene of personal injury, and negligent operation of motor vehicle so as to endanger.
